Honesty, hard work and integrity define the life and character of Tom Croci.
Protecting our nation after 9/11, Navy Reserve Commander Tom Croci served at the highest levels of government under two Presidents — a Republican and Democrat — first in the White House Situation Room and then as Deputy Executive Secretary of the Homeland Security Council.
Following his deployment with a SEAL team as an Intelligence Officer in Afghanistan, Tom Croci returned to Long Island and later was elected as Islip’s Town Supervisor. As Supervisor, Tom has helped create jobs, lead the recovery from Superstorm Sandy and fix a budget left in shambles by the previous Supervisor.
In 2013, Tom was again deployed overseas to help defend our nation. Returning the following year, he then led the Islip’s comprehensive response to illegal dumping that contaminated a public park and other sites in the Town. The individuals who were involved have been convicted for their crimes, fulfilling his pledge that the perpetrators would be held fully responsible.
Since becoming a member of the Senate in 2015, Tom has served as Chairman of the Senate Committee on Homeland Security, Veterans, and Military Affairs, recognized as the Senate’s leader on security issues facing New York State. He is also the Chairman of the Senate Committee on Ethics, making state government transparent and accountable to New Yorkers.
Tom is the son of two public school teachers who both went on to become school principals and the grandson of Ellis Island immigrants. As a young man growing up on Long Island, Tom worked many jobs; at an ice cream shop, he was a park attendant at a local marina and he even worked at St. John’s in Bohemia earning money for college.
With an understanding of what it takes to create jobs and grow the economy, prior to being elected Supervisor Tom Croci served as a Vice President and Partner of V1 Analytical Solutions, a firm focused on national defense issues.
Tom is a graduate of New York Law School and James Madison University.
He is the volunteer President of the Tom and Jo-Ann Croci Foundation which is helping provide scholarships to children in our community. Tom is also a proud member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW).
Use of Tom Croci’s military rank and photograph in uniform does not imply endorsement by the United States Navy or Department of Defense.
